Chub

Avery had her two month well-baby visit on Friday where she also received her first round of shots. In one month since her last visit, she's gained two more pounds (10 lbs 12 oz) and grew another two inches (22 inches). We were a little miffed when the doctor called her "average" when naturally, she's exceptional.

She did really well with the shots too. It definitely helped having the numbing patches as she recovered pretty quickly from the pain and discomfort. She hasn't reacted to the shots either, other than them making her incredibly sleepy, no fever or much fussiness. She's tough...like her folks.

She's become increasingly more alert and aware. And she's now making some very cute noises. Not just the expected baby coos, but some high pitched chirping as well. It's quite entertaining, like there's a 10 lbs seagull in the room. Interestingly, her hands are fisted most of the time too, usually while she sleeps. I don't know why I find this so amusing, but when she makes a fist, her thumbs are always in. I guess that means she'd make a good boxer as in-thumb fisting would prevent her thumbs from getting broken or dislocated. Not sure what made me think of that but, whatever.

She also quite enjoys looking at herself in the mirror while in her carseat (in the car) and is ambivalent when it comes to snow falling onto her face. She either fiercely whips her head side to side as if I'm trying to wash her face or simply half-smiling when flakes touch her cheek. Maybe the wind has something to do with it, not sure.

Oooph...sooo tired.
