Caddy Shack

Guest Blogger: Daddy-O

As much as I'd like to be writing about my wonderful 3-iron that carried almost 240 yards out of a fairway bunker today, my Caddy Shack story is much more Carl Spackler than Ty Webb.

My story this week starts in the bath tub. For those Caddy Shack fans out there, you know what's coming. My darling little girl was getting a bath and having quite a bit of fun. She really likes to splash daddy by slapping her hands against the water. She gets excited and crawls from one end of the tub to the other, splashing all the way. It's amazing how a 20 pound little girl can stomp around in the tub like a 20 ton elephant! Anyway, after having been in the bath for about 15 minutes and getting all clean, she did something she's never done before...made her own bubble bath. Yep, she ripped one right in the tub--bubbles rolling to the top of the water like it was boiling.

I was laughing so hard I almost missed what happened next. Another First! She looked at me, leaned forward on her haunches, gave a cute little grunt, and gave birth right in the tub to a healthy, bouyant little turd. And then another...and another...

Daddy stopped laughing immediately. I scooped her up before she needed to be re-bathed, dried her off, lotioned her up, and diapered here in record time; then, deposited her on her bedroom floor in the midst of 1,000 toys while I donned my bio-hazard suit and commenced with clean up doodie (pun intended). Needless to say, daddy is quite traumatized and might need some therapy before the next bath.

On a not so funny note, our little girl got sick this weekend and we had to take her to urgent care when she spiked a 104 degree temperature. She was given an antibiotic because she also had a sore, red throat and the beginnings of an ear infection. She seems to be doing better now!

Doreen's roommate from college, Kara, and her family were in town for a wedding and came to visit. Avery was a little overwhelmed with all the people in HER house (you'd think she crawls around marking on the couches or something) but besides a little fussiness was her usual happy self.

Only one more day until the big Oh-One!! We are so excited for her birthday bash this weekend and I'm sure we'll be posting tons of pics!

PS--No walking yet, though Mommy coaxed her into a few steps on her own this evening, very exciting!!

Until my next blogger appearance...Daddy-O
