What Has Possessed Me?

Avery's bedtime routine usually involves reading a few books, then our laying down with her and rubbing her back. Once the light is off and she's cozy and settled, we remind her "5 more minutes" before we leave the room. Previously, after the 5 minutes, she'd protest, saying, she 'needed to close her eyes', essentially asking for 5 more minutes, and we would oblige.

Of late, after the first 5, and countless smooches and hugs, everyone's good for the night. Whereas before, she was getting out of bed, finding us, and asking one of us to lie down with her again.

Well, last night, after the first 5 and good-for-the-night routine, she comes out of her room, alerting us of something she's found in her bed (a dryer sheet). I was busy caking, so Jimmy offered to lie down with her. "No Daddy, you may not come with me!" she said as she trotted back to her room. Jimmy followed and watched her climb back in bed before shutting the door. "Thanks Daddy, good night', was all her heard.

Who's 3 year-old puts themselves back to bed?!
