What Has Possessed Me?

Halloween was SO much fun this year! Sure, Avery had a cute costume and was able to walk door-to-door last year, but she didn't quite get it. This year was a completely different story.

Avery talked all week about wearing her princess costume and going trick or treating with her friends. She sang her own made-up trick or treating songs along the way, eagerly said the magic words when they approached each house and encouraged her friends that they needed to 'go to the next one' to get more candy. Even afterwards, only slightly interested in her bucket of candy, she talked only of how fun it was, and that was the real treat.

Avery's dress was too long and despite my efforts to pin it, she kept tripping on the hoop in the front. This kid takes direction well and all I had to tell her was to hold her dress up a little, you know, like a real princess would.
