This past week we've had family town, Jimmy's dad and stepmom bopped down from Alaska to bask in our warm weather. Unfortunately, they got rained on most of the time they were here, and it certainly wasn't warm, but they got A LOT of Avery time, which she thoroughly enjoyed. We all did.
Avery has gotten past the separation anxiety she demonstrated around her 1st birthday. These days she'll take anyone's finger and walk, and even allow them to pick her up. We got a lot of great pictures of this with the grandparents in town (although, none with my camera) and a few other miscellaneous as well.

Sicky-poo. At her 15-month visit Avery received three shots, naturally one of them being the vaccination HiB recently recalled by Merck. Thankfully, our pediatrician doesn't use Merck for that particular product. Nonetheless, since then she's been ultra-phlegmy, snotty and fussy. We thought it was related to more teething, but last night when she was throwing up mucus, I knew it was time to see the doctor. Turns out she has Brochiolitis (sp? - inflammation of the airway), a tinge of pneumonia AND an slight ear infection. This might explain why Avery's not been sleeping well these past few night, waking saying 'owie owie owie' and hacking up a storm. Tylenol wasn't cutting it, so we're hopeful the antibiotics start working their magic soon, cuz mama and papa aint' gettin' much sleep these days.
Sickness aside, Avery is full of fun new words and like most books say, understands more of what I say than I know. She's a smart little bird who likes to stack her toys, sing songs, dance and play. She's my perfect little cru-chaca.
