I like golf. Jimmy LOVES golf. And we hope Avery takes an interest in it too. Being the daughter of college athletes, we hope she has even the slightest hint of athleticism to be able to compete at the collegiate level. I'm pushing for basketball. Dad's leaning toward golf. I'd be okay with golf because honestly, no one really wants to play in the WNBA, it kinda really sucks (IMHO). She can play golf for the rest of her life and its an activity we can enjoy as a family.
Avery was barely out of the womb when dad bought her her first set of golf clubs. A set of three pink clubs (a wood, an iron and a putter), complete with a pink double-strap golf bag made for someone of very small stature. And every now and again, dad will attempt to teach her some golf technique. Hey, if Tiger can shoot a 49 on 9 holes at age 3, damned if my kid can't do it too! We've got time.

She's finally gotten the two-handed grip down (sorta). It was a one-handed attempt; holding the hanging club out at arms length and trying to tap the ball. Now she'll take a good hack at it. And look, she's already got her Nike gear on!
