In the Spirit

It's officially winter in Arizona. Arizona weather has plummeted to a frigid 40 or so degrees at night and highs only around 70 during the day. Needless to say, we've finally had to turn the heat on. We don't mind the cool nights, but stepping out of the shower and toweling off in the COLD was too much for me to bear.
We're very much in the throes of the holidays...shopping, parties and other Christmas-related activities and get-togethers. Avery LOVES the cwistmas twee, santa cwause and cannicanes, and honestly, we just love hearing her say them. She'd eat her entire Advent calendar if we let her, so it's safe to say that she and it can not be out of our sight at any time. She's devastated by the deflated Frosty the Snowman on our front lawn every time she sees him ('what happened to Fwawsty?' *sniff*). And the girl loves her some presents. Christmas is going to be so fun this year. Especially because it will include snow!

Pondering her Santa hat, which she would previously, never let me put on her head.

Stockings are meant to be worn, right?
We attended Intel's annual Winter Wonderland, held for the families of Intel employees. There's Santa, cookie decorating, crafts, face painting, balloons, story-reading, the works. We took Avery last year, which was a lot less fun because she really had no idea what was going on, but this year, she was totally into it, right up until we tried to have her and Elijah sit with Santa.
They couldn't wait to eat the cookie they'd just decorated. It was a giant mess.
