Rainy Days & Tongue Rolls

We have officially turned a corner here in Arizona, where it's not just warm, it's HOT!! This past weekend, we had highs in the 110s and we're expecting 115 this coming weekend! We're lucky because we haven't reached these high temps until this late in the summer, when we would normally have highs like this by mid-May. Who knew 90 degrees would seem cool?!

But this time of year is also monsoon season, resulting in high winds, humidity, thunder, lightning and rain. It's actually a cool phenomenom to experience here; where the skies turn brown with flashes of lightning and torrential rain, but also uncomfortably humid for such a dry area.
It wasn't until last week where I realized that Avery had never experienced rain. She's seen it briefly from inside the car when we'd get short showers, but she's never been rained on. Well, she had her chance this weekend. To feel it on her skin, you would have thought she was being tickled. She kept running in and out of the garage, just happy as a clam. Oh the joy of newfound things.

And it was probably too soon to try, but I wanted to see if Avery carried the tongue-rolling trait. I can do it, Dad can not. But it's sure funny to hear and see him try. Now Avery just looks and sounds like her dad when she does it. Which I find so funny!.

Being silly in the car w/ her blankie!

This post is so funny because:

    1. We just played out in the rain over the weekend!

    and

    2. We were just testing out the tongue thing this weekend too!! LOL (We both can do it, so we're thinking she'll be able to eventually.)

    Stay cool!
