New School

Last week was Avery's first week at her new preschool. It was a VERY difficult decision, but in an effort to continue Avery's educational stimulation and growth, we decided to move her to one of the preschools at ASU.
After two year's at Miss Angela's, whom she has grown to love, and the friends she made there, this first week of transition was emotionally rough on Mommy and Avery. The first day she cried the heart-wrenching cry, the second day was worse. The third day was a little better, and by the fourth day, I was out the door without a second glance from her.
Entering into week two, it's as if she's been there forever and she loves her teacher, Miss Espie. However, with all the 'new', she's definitely been testing her limits. Using 'No' a lot, not eating and not napping. The upside is she's going to bed an hour earlier in the evening.
We're still very close with Miss Angela & Elijah and we're very happy this hasn't been a rough as we thought. Our little social butterfly is doing great, which makes me feel better looking down the road to kindergarten & 1st grade. Obviously, it's going to be hardest on the parents.

These transitions are so hard (for parents, at least). Why is it everyone gives you the horror stories of labor and sleepless nights, but neglects things like these? And although we know their tears usually stop shortly after we leave, it's heartbreaking to have that be the last thing you hear before starting the "work day." Hopefully the tears are all in the past and she'll be begging to go to school on the weekends very soon (which, by the way, will begin yet another phase of Mommy & Daddy guilt...).
