Under The Weather

While fighting normal cold-weather symptoms (a snotty nose mostly), within days, Avery developed a ridiculous cough. A cough so bad it made her gag, and we know what usually happens from there.
Restless sleep, heavy wheezing, and her unfriendly cough (which once woke her at 10:30 p.m. and caused vomiting) earned her a trip to the pediatrician, where she was awarded with a breathing treatment. Considering Avery hadn't been feverish, the quick on-set of this cough was pretty alarming for us. Avery had shown similar symptom the last time she had a double ear infection, but the wheezing was something new.
On account of the wheezing, we feared that Avery was developing asthma, and we're relieved that's not the case. According to Doc Miller, she'd seen many kids this season that have displayed 1st-time wheezing symptoms related to a flu-virus that's going around. A few days of Albuterol and the 10-day dose of Augmentin (the super-charged stuff) has Avery returning to her old self.
